Handcrafted Azumino Wooden Chopsticks
Handcrafted Azumino Wooden Chopsticks
Create your own personalized chopsticks using traditional Japanese woodcarving techniques. Under the guidance of professional artisans from Ezo-bori Kogei, you will carve and finish a pair of chopsticks tailored to your preferred thickness and shape.
Choice of Premium Wood:
-Japanese Cypress (Hinoki): Known for its beautiful grain and soothing natural scent.
-Wild Cherry (Yama-zakura): A durable and elegant hardwood that darkens beautifully over time.
The Process: You will use specialized planes (kanna) to shave the wood. After carving, a glass-based coating is applied to enhance durability and hygiene while preserving the wood’s natural feel.
Important Note on Usage: While you can take your chopsticks home immediately, the glass coating requires a full curing period. Please wait 20 days before using them for eating.
